Libyan store Desert Glass

Libyan Desert Glass store is an impactite, made mostly of lechatelierite, found in the Great Sand Sea, in the deserts of eastern Libya and western Egypt. Research indicates origins from a meteorite impact 29 million years ago. It was even knapped and carved to make tools and jewelry. Tutankhamun's brooch featured a scarab carved from desert glass.
