This is such a charming heart pendant that I almost store kept it for myself. The slightly asymmetrical heart features stripes of blues and grays. It is on the thick side for its size which gives it a nice substantial feel. And the Leland Blue is actually a bit of Michigan history.
Leland blue is a glass-like byproduct of the iron industry in Northern Michigan. Well over 100 years ago this by-product, called slag, was discarded in and around our Great Lakes. Jewelers and rockhounds have been collecting and using this "stone" for years.
I designed, hand-cut and textured this sterling silver setting in my Northern Michigan workshop. The "stone" was collected, cut, and polished in Michigan by a local craftsman.
This pendant is about 0.75 inches tall including the bail and about .5 inches across.
Please choose a chain length for your pendant. I have included a reference photograph. If in doubt, 18 inches is a popular length.
This will be sent to you in a gift box, whether it is a gift for yourself or a loved one.
Each piece that leaves my workshop is marked on the back with "IE" so you know it is an IndigoEdenArts original and ".925" which certifies that it is made of sterling silver.
Enjoy!
