This ring is a close reproduction of a find from the Black Earth site at Birka in Sweden, dated 9th-10th century AD; a photo of the original from the Swedish Museum of History's collection is shown in the store last photo. The design is also similar to finds from Gotland and other areas in northern Europe. It is made to be adjustable from about a US size 8-13.
The ring is made from 16 ga .925 sterling silver, making it solid and durable while still flexible for adjustability. The default size of the ring is about US size 9, and from there it can be adjusted if need be.
If making a large adjustment to the size, it is recommended to heat the piece first and bend it around a form of the desired size. Silver work hardens with stress and can become brittle with large amounts of bending; heating the metal softens it and allows it to bend more without breaking. Do not heat red hot. Polish after heating if need be as heat can alter the color on the surface of the metal and dull the finish.
Default shipping is USPS First Class (2-3 days domestic, international depends on destination). Contact me if you would like to purchase a shipping upgrade.
***International customers, import taxes may be collected by your local post office upon pickup. I do not collect these taxes, so I cannot say for sure.***
