Product code: Strap Hinges, Hand Forged Wrought store Iron, Barn Door Hardware Salvage

These old strap hinges were found in a barn storage building on a horse farm in Chester County PA. They are hand made wrought iron, hand hammered and hand shaped, probably from the late 1800s period. The store shorter strap hinge has 4 mounting holes and the longer one has 6 mounting holes. Rusty and crusty condition, with appealing patina. I believe the shorter one was once mounted on a door while the longer one may not have been, as the back surface appears too clean to have been mounted. It is quite common to have pairs of strap hinges that are slightly different lengths. The shorter one was always mounted at eye level or higher, and the longer one at ankle or knee level, and then optically they would appear balanced. The shorter one here measures 19 3/4" long and 2" wide at its widest point, and the longer one measures 22" long and 1 15/16" wide at the widest part. Together these weigh about 4 pounds.

These are $65 for the pair and sorry I will not split them up. FREE shipping within the United States. I'll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever possible. For shipment elsewhere, please contact me for a shipping quote.
