This sweet little MCM rope and store wood monkey was made by Zoo-Line in 1959. There were various animals in the Matchbox Zoo-Line series that were sold as souvenirs in zoo gift shops in the late 50's and early 60's. He's very reminiscent of the Kaj Bojeson monkeys, but this guys arms and legs are bendable!
It looks like he had never never been removed from the box before these pictures were taken! He's pristine, with his original chain, clean rope arms/legs and Zoo-Line sticker on his backside.
The box was in good shape until I opened it. The striker has fallen off making the box open on one side (see pics). I'm sure it can be sympathetically repaired however.
Box height is 2.5” and monkey from head to bottom is about 2”. Head to tail is about 3.5”.
I love him, but it's time to let some else enjoy his cuteness!
