Blown Glass Art Jar - Strawberry Jam Jumbo Playa store jar with cork

It's the jam! For a look of strawberry jam, this special big hand blown art glass jar was made using a layers of transparent red, amber, and copper ruby colored glass. Then, a technique was used in which while molten, the glass is momentarily quenched in water then blown out again, reheated, and worked. The result is spectacular crackled lightning patterns in surface that let golden light through! The inside shows the crackle pattern also giving the vessel yet another look.
Additionally, this jar features the artist's personally developed "keef-catcher" lip, formed with a special glassblowing tool during the process store to create a wide, puffed out shoulder for the container and an indented lip. Extra deep for this large size and shape, this special rim stops the contents from spilling yet leaves full access through the extra wide mouth.
This unique jar features a flattened, fire-polished base engraved with the artist's signature. As a vessel the large size and extra wide-bodied shape will store plenty, and it is durable...made to last.

The Playa series of jars are inspired by the crackled surfaces of the seasonally wet/dry ancient lake beds, vernal pools, springs, and desert "beaches" of Northern Nevada.

All jars are individually fitted with a tapered cork to keep any perishable or organic contents fresh, making them ideal spice or herb jars. However some people choose to use the vessel as a little bowl or mini vase for holding fresh flowers, precious collectibles...or a candle with a beautiful glow.
This is a perfect unique addition to any collection or a wonderful gift.

All of the glass for sale is made by me and immediately put in a digitally controlled kiln to be annealed for lasting durability.
