Such a fun old set! The body of the train is made entirely out of wood and painted. Santa's head and hands, painted to resemble red mittens are made out of very heavy molded glass. I feel like it's similar to what china dolls are made out of. Santa's clothing would be described as a heavy paper mache. The trim on the hat, cuffs and coat are a soft vintage gauze material. Santa is store wearing a brown leather-type belt.
Santa sits 8” tall, and is 5” wide. The railway cars dimensions are all 6” x 4”. There is a total of four cars. They all hook together with gold hook & eye hooks. The cute little elf on the front of the engine sits 2” tall. The total length of the train is 28”. The top of the Caboose is removable. Please note there is a very tiny spot of paint loss on one corner of the lid.
