Product code: Old genuine Moroccan store metal teapot, vintage, made of pewter

029/2021
This is a traditional North African teapot. It's shape is similar to French Regence teapots from the 17th-18th centuries. This one has most probably been made in Morocco, in 1930ies - 1950ies. It is made of cast pewter, hand made and hand assembled.
It has a pear-shaped body, a tall, peaked , hinged lid, a cast grip and a protruding spout. Maker's logo is stamped in the bottom, a bee within a square, letters S, I, A, M in the corners.
It is 7.5 inches / 19 cm tall, 8.5 inches / 22 cm long, spout to handle.
It is in remarkably good condition.
This kind of teapots is still being used for serving Moroccan mint tea. This teapot is well suited for use it's original purpose.
The high grade pewter, almost pure tin has just recently been polished up and shines now almost like silver.
I As well as being a treasured collector's piece, this beautiful vintage teapot will be a pride of even the most distinguished home. store
