This is an exceedingly rare book from 1872. In fact, I have found one on line that is priced well over $100! This book also has been reprinted as a modern day resource for historians and those involved in agriculture. It is these modern day reprints that are readily available, not the original book. This is most certainly a niche topic that would appeal to those who are interested in soil enrichment, store fertilizers and organic decay. The preface page of this book describes it as” A description of the elements and composition of plants and soils- the theory and practice of composting- the value of stable manure and waste products, etc., etc. Also Chemical analyses of the principal manufactured fertilizers - their assumed
and real value- and a full expose of the frauds practiced upon purchasers”
The book is complete with no missing or torn pages. The hard cover and binding are intact and tight, though there is some fading and slight corner wear. The paper has yellowed a bit due to age.
