I always recommend to get a set of headband-mittens, hat-scarf-mittens, etc. as it completes your look. If you like to add scarf or mittens, please send me request.

WHAT IS MINK WOOL YARN?

Mink yarn is a fairly new and not well known type of yarn, there are multiple questions surrounding mink yarn, that store I would like to help answer. Many are wondering what mink yarn is, and how it is made. So let us look closer at how mink fur becomes mink yarn.

Mink changes fur around three times a year, and it is fur from this “sloughing” that is turned into mink yarn. The mink fibres are trimmed by hand and/or brushed off the mink with special gloves. A process similar to trimming sheep wool from sheep to create wool yarns. The trimmed off fur is then sold to a company that mechanically sort the mink fibres in preparation for spinning yarn.


When the mink fibres are spun into yarn, they are often combined with other fibres to add strength or in other ways combine the best qualities from several types of natural fibres. Mink fibres are often combined with wool or cashmere to form a range of luxurious mink yarns, and we therefore talk about mink yarn, mink wool yarn and mink cashmere yarn.  


Mink fibres are not spun into yarn on their own, rather they are combined with other types of fibres, to take advantage of the beautiful, soft mink fibres, while at the same time creating strong, wearable yarns. One way is to combine mink fibres with cashmere fibres, another soft and luxurious natural fibre.

I started knitting when I was 12 in my school crafts club. I've made all my hats, gloves, socks and sweaters. I've been knitting ever since.

Recently, I decided that I would love to learn to knit on a knitting machine, and from a little hobby I had over the years, knitting became my passion. I am still learning, as it is entirely different from hand knitting.

All my friends and family are wearing my handmade hats, scarves, gloves and socks.
