A thick specimen from England's glory days of the mining and collecting of iron minerals! This is a very attractive piece of goethite, with an almost burnished botryoidal surface of golden brown color. Several of the botryoids are opened, revealing their spectacular radial growth structure. The sides reveal a mix of metallic and colorful iron minerals, and the back side does as well, a combination of formless limonite, hematite, and goethite. This piece is from an old collection of English minerals, and comes with two old identification labels.
