Antique sterling silver Deakin & Francis belt buckle. Victorian thistle design. Each side of the buckle has the imprinted markings for Birmingham silver with the date mark for 1900. The buckle has not been polished and has a natural aged patina but can easily be polished to a bright silver color. The silver is in good used condition for its age. The closure still works (please see photos). It is a hook style closure. This type of buckle was original made for nurse's uniforms during the Victorian era. Today, these buckles can be adapted for any decorative lady's belt. Please feel free to contact the shop with questions.
