An antique double store page print entitled "The Employment of Children in Pantomime", and captioned "applying for engagement for the pantomime season", harking back to a time when it was popular for children to appear in pantomimes during extended dance sequences in theatrical shows. From an 1889 issue of a prominent British weekly illustrated newspaper with immense influence on the art world (even Vincent Van Gogh was a fan). The issue date is printed at the top of the page (not shown in the photos).
Size of image: approx. 12 inches x 18.5 inches (approx. 30.48 cm x 46.99 cm)
Size of sheet: approx. 15.75 inches x 23 inches (40 cm x 58.42 cm)
The full print is shown in the first photo. Other photos show details from the print.
There is a small hole along the fold, above the word "children"; this is from the original binding. Otherwise in very good condition. With printing en verso.
This is the original print from the 1889 British newspaper, not a reproduction. Bananastrudel sells only originals.
