80s Prom Dress Sz S Vintage Black Velvet Blue Flocked Taffeta Long Gown Costume Free store US Shipping

This is a beautiful vintage prom dress from the 1980s that was made in the US by Special Times by Patty O'Neil. The bodice of the dress is made out of a jet black rayon velvet. The dress has a drop waist, and the skirt is made out of a dark blue acetate taffeta that is covered in a black velvet flocked jacquard design. The dress has short sleeves with taffeta bow accents on the cuffs. The dress closes with a zipper down the back.

SIZING

The tag labels this a size 8, but vintage sizes tend to run smaller than modern sizes. I believe it would best fit a modern size Small. The actual measurements are as follows:

Bust: 17 inches across, underarm to underarm (34 inches around)
Shoulders: 14.5 inches across from seam to seam
Natural Waist: 14.5 inches across (29 inches around, measured at the narrowest part of the bodice)
Drop Waist: 15 inches across (30 inches around, measured at the seam between the bodice and the skirt)
Hips: Full and roomy
Length: 49.5 inches

Note: These are the actual measurements of the garment, so please leave yourself room for comfort of movement. All measurements were taken with the item laying flat. The flat measurements were doubled to give an approximate measurement around.

CONDITION

This dress is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws to note.
