the faceted garnet beads on this mala make it look a lot like rosary beads. every 9th bead is 'sandwiched' between two gray crystal beads. this adds pleasing contrast and also makes it easier to count mantras. the garnet stone is a really dark, even subtle red - not too flashy. more reverently somber than flashy.

the beads are 6mm in size
on a doubled length of strong nylon cord, two-toned gray and bright teal blue.
the guru bead is a round smoky gray bead of rock quartz, about 10mm, which matches the gray tassel. i tie the tassels myself rather than buy them. use a soft, pliable cotton embroidery thread.

the 'loop' hangs about 41 centimeters or 16 1/2" minus the tassel and guru bead.
