THE SWORD:
The Kukri is a machete style weapon and was used by Gerka soldiers of Nepal and India. In addition to combat it regarded as a utilitarian knife which provided many uses in home and farm life. Gerka soldiers typically used a pair for defense in combat.

A Hollow Earth sword has weight and balance that closely approximates a metal sword. They are ideal for full-contact sparring, staged combat, teaching, learning, and practicing swordsmanship.

Each contour of our swords is individually shaped and sanded by the sword smith to create it's unique form. This devotion to detail results in a superior grip, heft, and balance. This is truly art you can fight with.

THE WOOD:
This Elven was crafted from American Hickory, a wood that provide superior heft and flex for sparring.

At Hollow Earth, we developed the original hickory sparring weapon. Through many years of testing we have found hickory to be the superior American hardwood for sparring weapons.
We founded our company in 1984, and as my children have grown up, so has the business. Now we proudly involve three generations of our family in making our fine wooden weapons. These swords have become a tradition for our family, as we hope they will for yours.
