A Fine Platy Specimen of Chalcocite, store Quartz, Bornite from Vancouver Island, British Columbia 6oz

A fine massif platy specimen of Chalcocite from Vancouver Island, British Columbia originating store as supergene formation in a lens below an old copper deposit. Veins of micro-crystalline quartz run through massif base that shows a metallic gunmetal grey sheen on exposed faces, and with small patches of iridescent metallic blues, purples and reds. Vancouver Island is historically well known for its copper deposits, but high-grade Chalcocite is rare. This piece measures 8cm x 8.5cm x 3cm thick and weights 6oz.
