Huge, Glamorous Kramer of New York Rhinestone Brooch.
This brooch features a combination of smoky black diamond rhinestones and clear rhinestones in a beautiful swirling design.
The smoky stones are foiled with open backs--the foil is in excellent condition. The clear stones have closed backs. The stones are a combination of square and round cut. All stones appear to be original to the piece and are in good condition. There is a bit of age related discoloring occurring but it is minimal.
The metal is bright polished silver-tone--likely silver plated. The metal is in very nice condition.
The closure is a roll-over safety clasp. The back of the pin has a Kramer of New York marquis shaped signature plate.

Founded in New York City at the height of World War II, Kramer Jewelry Creations produced intricate and artistic pieces out of gilt metal, rhinestones, glass, and enamel. Louis Kramer, who started the company in 1943, was later joined by his brothers, Morris and Harry, as he tapped into the burgeoning costume-jewelry market. All aspects of the business took place in New York City, so the pieces were marked “Kramer,” “Kramer N.Y.,” or “Kramer of New York.”
Kramer Jewelry was among the leading costume jewelers at the time. They produced jewelry in different price ranges for women of all economic means.
