Product code: Postwar 1940s store Straits silver filigree butterfly brooch pin
Landing in from postwar 1940s, this butterfly is crafted in filigree of sterling silver. Filigree is relatively common since it has persisted through the centuries that trace back 5,000 years, and has been interpreted by myriad cultures. This embroidery-like example is forged on the former British Straits Settlements.
This delicate object has been store stored lovingly and hardly shows tarnish except for its extreme edges. Spots the traditional c-clasp that works perfectly and catches securely. A tiny silver tag is applied on its back but the hallmarks or artisan or shop marks are no longer legible.
