The paint I use is Americana gloss enamel and the glasses are oven baked for durability. However, I would recommend treating them like the fine art pieces they are and preserving them by gentle hand washing. (Don't scrub or soak) That said they are absolutely made to be used. I have enjoyed my daily glass of wine using my favorite fish glass design for over 10 years now.
