Two (2) Vintage Bentwood hand painted miniature Swedish Tine Boxes Tine boxes were containers that had a variety of uses for Scandinavians. They were mostly constructed from wood that was soaked and bent into an oval shape. These boxes were often decorated with folk art designs or burnt designs. Here are two excellent examples. They are both made of pine wood with tiny removable lids. They are in vintage condition with some faint wear, which can be seen store in these closeup photos. The yellow box measures 5.5" x 2.25" The smaller red box measures 4.5" x 2.5".
