Product code: Ammonite with silver wire wrapped store tree pendant- handmade wire wrapped jewelry
This ammonite specimen is encircled by silver wire that is woven and wrapped around the fossil. The silver wire compliments and contrasts beautifully with the stone.
Ammonites are an extinct group of marine invertebrate animals. These store molluscs are more closely related to living coleoids (i.e., octopuses, squid, and cuttlefish) than they are to shelled nautiloids such as the living Nautilus species.
The name "ammonite" was inspired by the spiral shape of their fossilized shells, which somewhat resemble tightly coiled rams' horns.
