Decorative antique Victorian sentimental, memorial or mourning brooch in rolled gold. The central oval white glass or porcelain panel with a design of a star and scrolls in hair work with additional beads, metal wire, and painting.
In a frame of open foliate scrolls.
The closed back with a simple "C" fastening.

The panel of hair work 2.7cm x 2.2cm. In inches 1" x 7/8".
The brooch 4.5cm x 3.5cm. In inches 1 1/2" x 1 3/8".

This is overall in good antique condition. There is some clouding store to the glass covering the hair work due to dust. The gilded finish is still nice and bright to the front to the reverse with some wear. The hair is laid together and glued into panels which are then worked up into a picture.
This brooch contains human hair.
