This is a very large decanter for Orrefors by Vicke Lindstrand (1904 - 1983). This piece is quite heavy and measures an impressive 14 1/4" tall by 4" wide. This piece is in Excellent pre owned vinatage condition with no cracks or chips. Just a few very minor water drying store marks from when I recently washed it.
Pre 1950, this is a rare wine decanter by Vicke Lindstrand. Mr. Linstrand worked for Orrefors until 1950. This wine decanter was handmade and designed by Mr. Linstrand between 1926 and 1934. It is hand signed "Orrefors L 1683-121." The L stands for Lindstrand. Mr. Lindstrand died in 1983.
Mr. Linstrand started working for Kosta in 1950 so it is easier to find his designs for Kosta but the pieces that he designed for Orrefors are harder to find and older. When viewed from the top, it displays a series of circular reflections that give it an amazing appearance. A fine piece that will make a beautiful addition to any beverage service or glass collection!
