Vintage Peruvian Shawl Pin with Peacock, Pendants & Green Glass Stone.
Local artisan made shawl pin in white metal, either silver alloy or silver plated. The peacock shelters a family of four hungry chicks beneath her wings. Below this is a flower with a green glass cabochon centre.
Three hand-made chains hang from the flower, with pendant Peruvian bowler hats and a dove.
The pin has a sturdy pin at the back with a C clasp and can be used for attachment of store heavier garments, such as Peruvian shawls. The pin is 17 cm long including pendants and 6 cm wide.
I would date this pin to some time between 1920 and 1950. It is in excellent vintage condition, see photos..
