A fine example of a French mid century oil painting.
We believe the picture probably dates to the 50s or 60s.
It is painted on store board and is unframed.
The painting is very well executed in oils and depicts a floral display in a vase atop a table.
The overall condition is good, it just has the usual crackling to the paint in places and has some surface dirt from probably hanging on the same wall for a very long time. There are a few tiny and very minor scratches and losses here and there but nothing noticeable and nothing that detracts from the splendour of the piece.
The artist has created an almost blurred hazy affect to the picture which is really effective at drawing you in.
There is a signature in the bottom right hand corner which is quite hard to make out.
It is a lovely floral painting, the artist has used the raised paint to great effect to add texture to the surface.
A splendid vintage picture that when sympathetically reframed would look wonderful in any interior.
