Vintage 1970s Cotta surplice robe with inserted cream woven border decoration on the sleeves and skirt.

Traditional square neck with pleats from the yoke, this piece has been altered for theatre during its lifetime.

The original square cut sleeves have been pitched higher on the shoulders, and are gently shirred on the upper arm creating a relaxed droopy gathered balloon effect contrasting against the flared cuff.

Reminds me of Gina Fratini medieval/religious under gown from the early 70s!

Great vintage condition with light wear. Very few faint Marks on the neck/throughout which only add to the period look.

When purchasing Vintage footwear, remember although it is more often better made by craftsmen using quality materials, footwear should be treated respectfully as the the components used such as glue and plastic soles can deteriorate over time or become brittle and will always be an ongoing project. Vintage footwear is not recommended for everyday use.
