Royal Worcester Egg Coddler Pair - Evesham Pattern
This pair of store matching egg coddlers are in the collectible Evesham pattern -- the front side depicts a peach/plum and blackberries on the back side.
Coddled eggs are similar to poached eggs except that the eggs are cooked inside of a lidded egg coddler which is heated with boiling water. These containers are also nice for safely heating baby food.
The egg coddler is a tradition that has been around since 1890, although today's coddlers are made with fireproof, hard porcelain. They make nice housewarming gifts.
