Reclaimed Suit Totes. Canvas Lined with zipped pockets. Reclaimed store leather straps and bottom. FREE SHIPPING.
So, I've been making bags from suits for years. I store think this is one of my favorite versions.
This is a big simple tote. Aprox. 17" wide at the top, 15" tall, hugh 11x7" bottom.
I used the pockets from one suit coat and then added other wools from other coats.
The shoulder straps are reclaimed leather that are 13" from the top of the strap to the top of the bag. When I carry a big bag like this over my shoulder, I like to have room to loop my thumb in the strap. This is perfect for that.
The leather comes from a Maine furniture company. I buy their scrap. It is so soft. Perfect for a soft strap.
I also covered the bottom with the leather.
The two exterior pockets are the pockets from the jacket.
The lining is canvas. I used a coordinating color zipper for a pop of color. There are 4 big interior zipped pockets. I also put a snap hook inside to hook your keys.
One of my favorite features is the exterior secret pocket. I've always loved putting the cool vintage labels on the exterior of my suit bags. One of the things I love about these labels is that they are beautifully finished. I've always thought they woud make a great little pocket all on their own. Soooo, I added a snap hook on a leather teather to the inside of the label. This is a little secret pocket for a spare key.
