What a wonderful book for boys. The Boys Own Annual is a compilation of the editions of the paper for the years 1902-1903. It has everything a boy needs to know to grow into a proper man.
It has stories about history, sports, adventure, how to's for survival in the wilderness, etiquette, dressing, exercising, inventing, science, games, puzzles, jokes, and lots of illustrations and color plates.
it is 824 pages of knowledge in one volume.
If I were to be stuck on a desert island this is the book I would want with me: not only how to survive, but you would never run out of reading.
And in spite it's age, this book is in amazing condition. Kids really knew how to take care of their things in those days.

A great look into the culture of the turn of the 20's century, this book will provide years of education and amusement.
It measures 8.5 by 11 by 2 inches and is quite heavy.


I recently purchased all the small items from the Estate of a family who owned and operated a variety of enterprises in the town famous for its tall ship building. The ships would sail the world and bring back treasures from the continent and eastern seaboard. The Victorian home was filled with these magnificent finds, added to over the decades by other generations.
I am up to my ears in magnificence.
Victorian, Edwardian, the 20's, 30's 40's and 50's....all under one large roof.
Because the items where bought from the owners, the items have not been picked over in antique shops or (shudder) thrift stores. This is a rare opportunity to own something, well, rare.
And no, I don't actually want to sell any of it.
