This listing is for a late 1800s Georgian gold filled store mourning locket. It has beautiful etching around the edge and contains woven dark brown hair under the glass. Woven hair art in jewelry was a common way of mourning and remembered loved ones who had passed away during the late 1800s and early 1900s. These unique pieces of jewelry are highly sought after by collectors. I have a few myself :) The locket is in over-all good condition but does have some fading of the gold fill (no markings, acid tested 14k).
