Product code: Antique store 1920 Japanse hand painted, dyed silk Fukusa

Antique, one of a kind for quilting, jacket applique, unique large pillow

This is a very Rare Fukusa hand made in Japan in the 1920s or before
and definitely is a Collector's piece passed down within families for
generations.

A Fukusa is a somewhat square precious cloth, usually satin or silk
used as a cover over a boxed gift at an important event or ceremony.
The gift can store also be wrapped in the fabric for presentation, as well, as,
used to purify objects during the Japanese Tea Ceremony.

The craftsmanship is evident in the quality and detail of the design
in this custom made, one of a kind piece, hand painted, dyed and
embroidered and it's in Excellent condition no fading, rips, tears,
patinas, stains with all 4 tassels intact, which is rare for a piece as old
as this one.

It measures: 25" x 25"
