Vintage GEORG JENSEN Large Fine store Sterling Silver Oval Flower Photo Locket and Silver Twist Necklace 16’/40cm Denmark GJLD c.1970’s London
Ornate and intricately etched vintage Georg Jensen Fine Sterling Silver large oval store photo locket on a vintage Sterling Silver necklace 40cm/16'.
This is the large oval shaped flower locket showing 5 flowers rather than the smaller 4 flower and 3 flower round locket I have in my shop, it also a slightly different design so please have a look at them all.
A beautiful example of the world renowned Danish master silversmith, the piece has a contemporary etched flower design with superior Scandinavian craftsmanship.
The rear of the locket is etched in symmetrical lines to show a lovely pattern of small squares, it also carries the makers mark and word SILVER to confirm purity.
The clasp still works perfectly and the locket firmly snaps shut, impressively the original silver photo frame holders still survive to hold your photos in place, they also provide a beautiful looking silver frame for your treasured photos.
The locket measures approx. 33mm in length (excluding the bale), approx. 23mm wide and approx. 6mm thick.
It would show 2 oval shaped photos that are approx. 26mm x 15mm.
The vintage necklace is also marked 925 to confirm its purity and measures approx. 40cm/16'.
This is not a new piece but a true vintage classic, it has been used by its previous owner and there are some fine scratches/marks as you would expect from a piece that is around 50 years old, but as you can see from the photos these are very minor and it has clearly been loved and taken care of.
My photos are taken at x16 - x32 magnification and any mark will show as oversized but at normal resolution with my eyes I cannot see them.
Eminently collectable large Georg Jensen photo locket in excellent vintage condition, this would be a treasured gift for someone special in your life, maybe a wedding or engagement present, a birthday or as a treat for yourself to wear day to day, this is a piece that truly needs to live on with a new owner
